THE HACIENDA: Located 2 ½ hours Northwest from Quito, it is reached by a paved road (2 hours) down the Cordillera Occidental (mountains) passing by LAS PALMAS (Where jungle shoots of the film "Proof of Life" with Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe were taken), MINDO and then untill reach Los Bancos and from here a 30 minutes ride on unpaved road. Equatorial Line (0º0`0``) crosses MoMoPeHo.

At an overage of 678 meters of altitude it presents the characteristics of tropical rainforest, with a mean temperature of 22-24ºC (70-72ºF). Despite the weird climate changes around the World, we still can say that the dry season runs from May to September and wet the remaining months. It’s generally sunny during the day with rain a night.

Because of its climate and geographical conditions it can be considered as a sub-tropical hacienda having at the present time cows for milking, "cuyes" (guinea pigs) reproduction and plantations of: banana, “palmito” (palm variety grown for its heart) and grass.

There is also a forest area that for more than 9 years has not been touched by man’s hand so is returning to its wild condition, giving you a perfect idea of what rainforest means.

At the present time we are starting a program planting vegetables, flowers and fruits to complete the actual diversity we have as a natural resource.  

During the wet months we work mainly on agricultural activities preparing for the dry season, which is dedicated to other ones such as infrastructure works.
